A puppet performance about the Spartakiad, infinity, and life in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
“Here our nations live, here our children are born, here is our home – here our socialist society, led by the Communist Party, wisely directs all our steps!” Human lives have been fragmented. The performance does not tell the life story of any specific person, but the story of one woman among many. It portrays normalization as an endlessly repeating routine, an unceasing cycle of blows—mornings, afternoons, evenings, days, weeks, and months. Like a never-ending mass event culminating in the nationwide Spartakiad at Prague’s Strahov.
Dominik Migač is a visual artist, multimedia creator, and puppeteer. He focuses on creating theatrical microsystems and often works with technology and multimedia, which become an essential part of his work. His projects are conceptual, minimalist, and frequently reflect themes from the second half of the 20th century.
