A highlander band from the Silesian Beskids that performs songs from the entire Carpathian region, both in traditional arrangements and in original modern adaptations. They also create their own music, which reflects—more or less—the character of the region they come from. Their repertoire includes lively polkas and melancholic waltzes from Cieszyn Silesia, heartfelt Lemko songs, fiery Slovak and Hungarian csárdás, traditional Christmas “kantyczki” from Jablunkov, as well as tender melodies of Ukrainian tunes. The band Lipka is living proof that every kind of music can be rediscovered again and again.
