A toddler play inspired by the tragedies, comedies, and world of Shakespeare
“Children, who among you would like a crown?” Agnès Limbos brings to life basic scenes from some of Shakespeare’s comedies and tragedies among toddlers and their parents with ease and humour. While adults recognize Shakespearean intrigues, children—still untouched by clichés—immerse themselves in a performance that is at once narrative, entertaining, poetic, and musical. Excerpts from Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, King Lear, and more are sure to be included.
The theatre company Cie Gare Centrale was founded in 1984 by Agnès Limbos—one of the most internationally acclaimed performers in the field of object theatre. She delights both children and adult audiences. The versatile clown, actress, and puppeteer Agnès Limbos has appeared at the most prestigious festivals across Europe and North America. Her one-woman shows enchant audiences with their humour and emotional depth. Besides creating her own works, she leads object theatre workshops and collaborates on international projects with various artistic institutions.
