A philosophical performance with an immersive visual atmosphere

An unconventional animal performance loosely inspired by the lectures of philosopher Gilles Deleuze. Through the language of philosophy and symbolism, it explores themes of dreams and metamorphosis. Between human and animal, high heels and altered voices, the audience is immersed in a surreal world reminiscent of animated films. This poetic fable offers a unique perspective on the passage of time, the fundamental contradictions of humanity, and the fragility and transience of identity.

The theatrical production A as Animal was created under the direction of French puppeteer, choreographer, and visual artist Marie-Pascale Bélanger. In her works, she deliberately borrows the visual aesthetics of comics and the Dadaist and Surrealist movements, delighting in creating pieces that radiate a playful spirit where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur. Fascinated by the relationship between the human body and matter, she views manipulation of objects and puppets as choreography of micro-movements and strives to create a dialogue between them.
